Hard Transfer...goodbye Elder Shira.

Heller!

I literally have like 5 weeks left? Where has the time gone? This will be a bittersweet transfer.

Transfers were so hard! I had to say goodbye to a lot of my friends because I probably won't see them for a long time. It was hard saying goodbye to Elder Shira. We worked so hard and had so much fun but he is needed in Seminole. So thankful for the opportunity to serve with him!

Kelvin is doing great! He is also becoming more and more social as we meet with him which is a blessing! He always asks about baptism! He is at the end of 2 Nephi. We just read some throw down chapters with him and he loved it! Haha he knows what the scriptures actually say. We are having a hard time getting him to come to church but I felt impressed to not push it on him. He will come when he is ready :)

We have met with Mandy a few times and she is doing better. She knows she needs to read the Book of Mormon and come to church but she is having a hard time doing that with sick kids. We taught her about the Godhead and she believes it! We read Alma ch. 22 and she understood all of it! She was so excited/shocked about it!

We went to the OU Medical Center to give a blessing with Brother Lojka. The name sounded familiar and when we got there I recognized her! Her name is Luann Haddon. Elder Shira and I gave her a blessing a while ago. She is going through stage 4 cancer. We gave her a blessing and afterwards I asked if she was a member and she said no! She has never really heard about the church. So we told her about the Book of Mormon and how it was a history of her ancestors, she instantly fell in love with it! As we left I watched her as I closed the door and I saw how peaceful she was. She felt the spirit in that blessing and the Book of Mormon. They way she was holding it and looked at it I knew she was going to read it. It meant a lot to me to see that..

I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know God lives, I know Christ lives and I know they love me too.

Also our p day next week will be July 4th instead of the 3rd.

Serving a mission has been the best experience of my life and definitely the best choice I have ever made.

Heller.

Well we received transfer calls. On Wednesday Elder Shira will be getting transferred to Seminole, Oklahoma. We were hoping to have one more transfer together but sometimes our will doesn't match the Lord's will. I have loved serving with Elder Shira. Him and I are brothers so keep him in your prayers for me :)

My new companion will be Elder Hansen. He has only been out for 12 weeks so I will be his 2nd companion. I will have 6 weeks to teach him how to not only take over 1 area but 2! Should be an interesting transfer.

This week the Oklahoma Oklahoma City Mission had its Bi-annual apartment cleaning day. Elder Shira and I got to see how disgusting our apartment actually was. Let's just say our tub/shower actually is white and shines!!...

We had exchanges with Elder Jeffs and Elder Holcomb as well. Elder Jeffs and I rode the bus to the City. We didn't really do anything we planned to do because we were talking to a lot of people and actually found a family moving into a new house so we helped them unload. Elder Jeffs and I both agreed that we had never been so sweaty after all our time in Oklahoma. We are also confident we had angels carrying us up the steep grassy hill to the house. They family was super nice and very interested in us coming back to talk with them about what we believe!

Elder Shira and I have gotten 5 new investigators since Friday.
1. Hayden Holmes: He was being taught in the 4th ward when I first got here but we could never meet with him, he got married and we lost contact with him. He texted us and wanted to meet so we taught him about grace on Friday morning and he is super solid!!
2&3. Kimiko and Donna: We visited them with Bishop Gustin of the 2nd ward. They have lots to learn but are open to learning more about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
4. Osa Jones: She is a super old lady and we sat outside her glass screen door for 10 minutes as she tried to unlock it. We eventually got to go through the garage and fix it for her. She is also interested in getting a large print Book of Mormon.
5. Latonya: She requested a bible and when we delivered it she was a little uneasy but we introduced the Book of Mormon and she practically threw the bible on the couch to get a copy of the Book of Mormon. We are seeing her along with hopefully everyone else but Hayden on Wednesday!

I can't believe I only have 6 weeks of my mission left. I'm not ready to come home! sorry mom. Serving a mission has been the best experience of my life and definitely the best choice I have ever made. This gospel is so true!!

"Trust with the Lord in all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

I testify that Jesus is the Christ, He lives and loves us.

The Golden Investigator!

Heller!

Remember Kelvin, our new investigator from Kenya? Well he wants to be baptized by immersion :) KELVIN IS THE GOLDEN INVESTIGATOR EVERYONE WANTS! So basically we go over, lecture him, he believes it. We read 3 Nephi 11 with him. I felt prompted to ask him if he has ever been baptized and he said not by immersion. So I asked him if that was something he wanted and he said yeah! We started to explain to him that he needs to find out what we are teaching him is true and it finally clicked in his head and then he said "LETS READ" So we read the first 2 chapters of 1 Nephi with him and he loves it. His Dad, Anthony, joined one of our lessons and he was basically teaching Kelvin alongside us. They are so cool and we are so blessed to be working with them.

This week we had Elder and Sister Echo Hawk come tour our mission. It was so cool to learn from them for 4 days straight! They taught our Zone Conference, MLC, Native American devotional, and stake conference.

We took Brother Cordier to the Native American devotional with us! That was such a blessing to be with him again. He told us that he was fasting and knows he needs to do better and come back. He wants a strong family in the gospel but just has to make the necessary efforts to achieve that goal.

Not a whole lot happened this week. We went to Frontier City for P-Day and it was so fun! Pics will be attached.

Elder Shira and I are working super hard, having loads of fun and we are starting to see many miracles and blessing flow in. STAY TUNED!

Love and miss ya!

Getting Busy!!

We are getting so busy.. I LOVE IT!!

So this week we got a new investigator! His name is Kelvin, He is 22 years old and came here from Kenya! We were riding our bikes and apparently we passed him before but as we went back down his street we saw him and stopped to talk to him. He asked us if we wanted to go have a conversation so we went and shared the Restoration with him! It was super cool! We have had a total of 3 lessons with him this week and he just soaks everything up! He also told us he was scared because he thought we were the 2 prophets spoke of in the book of Revelation who will be stoned in the last days. haha nope not us!

We tried to see a potential investigator the elders had before we took over both wards. He was home and we found out he is a less active member but he wants to come back to church! Unfortunately he didn't make it Sunday but we are going to see him again this week! We might start teaching his brother too! His name is Brother Withers and he works at Buffalo Wild Wings. He is going to bring me some boneless honey BBQ wings!! 😍

We went to the Saint Anthony's hospital where we visited with a young boy named Brandon. He is a member and is in the behavior medicine facility. That place was so sad!! All these kids just locked up in there with only an hour visit from anyone. The employee's weren't even that nice! Brandon was happy to see us though and we were glad we could make it.

We got to see Ray and Yesika Cordier!! They haven't been coming to church so we are going to try and work with them. We sat down and read a story from the Book of Mormon with them and there was a sweet spirit that filled the room. Please pray for them!

We have been meeting with the Ward council leaders and their presidencies to promote member missionary work. So far we have only had 3 meetings but they have been so helpful! That is the main reason we are so busy! Every member a missionary. Go share the gospel with someone!! The missionaries will love you!! ;)

In the Edmond 2nd ward we both bore our testimonies and the spirit was so strong! We also got to teach Relief Society about the new ward mission plan. Our ward mission leader, Brother May, taught it with us and it was such a spiritual lesson!

This week has been so great! We are going to Frontier City for p day and we have been waiting for this day for months!! Remember who you are, make good choices!

Love Elder Brisk😘
